Manachiara is the wine from the East, the wine of morning light, the estate of the most ancient clones’ cradle.
This estate, bought by Silvio Nardi in 1962, is composed by three parcels: Colombaiolo, Manachiara e Pinzale.
Here are the highest altitude vineyards and our oldest olive trees. We produce the precious Brunello cru taking its name from the homonymous vineyard.

This parcel presents mostly clay, with sand and silt soils, no rocks, a precarious drainage and tendency to deep fissuring. Wines from this area are powerful and smooth, full bodied, with great complexity.

Soils of this vineyard are composed by sandstone and marly limestone with considerable clay and skeletal deposit, varied drainage generally deep soils with good presence of macro and micro elements. Wines from this area are smooth and quite concentrated. Good structure, excellent complexity and persistence.
