CASALE DEL BOSCO

Casale del Bosco dates back to XVII century, but the origins of this site are confirmed as Etruscan: it is on this base that the Tuscan villa of Casale del Bosco deeps its roots and Tenute Silvio Nardi were born.
From this estate, bought by Silvio Nardi in 1950, comes the precious Cru Brunello Poggio Doria: an elegant and fine interpretation of Sangiovese.

This parcel, in the nearby of the company headquarters, presents soils composed by jasper and marly shale from ancient terracing, deep soils, excellent drainage, presence of small skeletal deposit, good fecundity. Wines from this area are quite concentrated and medium-structured, with great complexity and finesse.

Elegance

This parcel presents soils composed by partly jasper formations and sands, partly clay and sand, various permeability and deepness, good water presence in the subsoil. Wines from this area have great concentration and excellent elegance.

Sassi

Complexity

This vineyard presents soils composed by marl and metamorphic formations, hard and compact stones, very deep soils with good quantity of sand. Decent permeability. Wines from this area have an excellent concentration. Full bodied, with excellent complexity.

Oria

Soils here present prevalent jasper with good quantity of grit and limestone, some clay layers, good permeability with a notable presence of skeletal deposits and mineral elements. Wines from this area are concentrated, with great structure, excellent complexity, finesse and elegance.

Grancia

Delicacy

Soils of this vineyard presents clay shists, sand and silt, good deepness and productivity, low presence of skeletal material and drainage. Wines from this area are light, medium structured and good complexity.

MANACHIARA

Manachiara means “bright morning”.

Manachiara is the wine from the East, the wine of morning light, the estate of the most ancient clones’ cradle.
